ABOUT
From Wikipedia – “Code Pie is a Canadian indie rock band founded in 2002 in Montréal by singer and guitarist Enzo Palermo. Other band members are Salvatore Ciolfi (guitars), Michel Semienchuk (bass), Vince Varano (drums), Eva Boodman (trumpet) and Rebecca Lessard (cello).”
Code Pie have released 2 albums;
This Habit (2005)
“This Habit is the first album by Indie pop/rock band Code Pie, released on April 8, 2005. The album was self-produced and recorded for $700. All songs on This Habit were recorded in the auditorium of drummer Vince Varano’s former high school, as well as other locations around Montreal [1].[1] Vocal and overdub work continued in the months that followed, while the band worked to get a satisfactory sound on their shoestring budget. Wary of labels and unsure of how to proceed once the album was complete, Code Pie released This Habit on their own label, Flagless Records. [2] Once completed, the album received favourable reviews [3] and garnered comparisons to other notable Canadian indie bands, [4] Flagless eventually signed a distribution deal with the now-defunct PHD Canada, [5] a company formerly based in Vancouver, British Columbia.”
The Most Trusted Name in Yous (2007)
“Recorded over the period of one year, The Most Trusted Name in Yous is Code Pie’s second album. Released on June 16, 2007, on the band’s own Flagless Records, the album was recorded and mixed at the Hotel 2 Tango in Montreal[1] with Howard Bilerman, Brian Paulson, and Kevin Komoda, and released at an event influenced by the drive-in movie experiences of the 50’s[2]. Like This Habit, it has enjoyed success on Canadian and American college radio circuits[3] and has again received favorable reviews.[4][5].”
